Job summary

The Shelly Company, a CRH company, is seeking a versatile General Laborer to join our Ohio plant team. You will perform general labor, operate equipment, weld, and assist with maintenance to keep operations safe and productive.

Candidates should be able to work nights and weekends as needed, travel if required, and join the local union. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with general knowledge of asphalt operations a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or three to six months related experience and/or training.
• General knowledge of asphalt operations a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Join the local Union as a condition of employment.
• Assist the plant foreperson with daily operations and upkeep.
• Maintain and operate skid steer, dump truck, and water truck safely.
• Access all areas of the plant to perform maintenance and repairs.
• Perform welding and fabrication duties as required.
• Detect safety hazards and respond to malfunctions.
• Follow detailed instructions and work safely as part of a team.
• Work at heights up to approximately 100 feet.
