Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking an Asphalt Leadperson to oversee daily plant operations, manage a diverse crew, and drive safety and efficiency in hot mix asphalt production. You will bridge management objectives with on-site execution, adjusting processes in real time to meet schedules and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, knowledge of asphalt plant mechanics, and strong communication to coordinate with QC, maintenance, and sales teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant experience required.
• Experience in asphalt plant operations preferred.
• supervisory/leadership experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily activities of Plant Operators, Laborers, and Mobile Equipment Operators.
• Assist in planning production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
• Coach and evaluate staff; conduct training and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Lead onboarding and cross-training for new hires in plant operations and equipment.
• Monitor production cycle and adjust burner settings, feed rates, and mix designs for output.
• Collaborate with QC to ensure mixes meet state and local specs.
• Oversee raw materials receipt and manage inventory to prevent downtime.
• Lead safety culture with toolbox talks, site inspections, and OSHA compliance.
