Position Overview

To maintain the plant efficiently and effectively to maximize production while maintaining a safe work environment. Develop teamwork and foster team spirit within the production and delivery departments.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures for themselves and co-workers by using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
• Report problems to the Foreman, Superintendent, Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.
• Ensure daily maintenance of the plant is completed, including routine and daily housekeeping duties.
• Keep the plant clean.
• Report major maintenance issues to the Plant Manager.
• Perform general labor duties when necessary, including operating small power tools like jackhammers, lifting, carrying, and holding materials, tools, and supplies.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of related experience preferred but not required.

Work Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
• Adhere strictly to safety requirements and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.
• Willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors as needed.
• Maintain a current driver's license that meets state requirements.
• Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
• Willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Wear PPE in designated areas as per OSHA and MSHA, including face shields, safety shoes, and coveralls.
• Comply with all OSHA and MSHA regulations.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Operate front-end loader and skid loader.
• Read, write, and perform basic math to keep records.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Communicate effectively with all personnel levels.
• Direct others effectively.
• Basic knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Basic understanding of electricity and mechanics.
• Knowledge of construction and paving materials, methods, and tools.
• Use equipment and tools safely and properly.
• Work independently and reliably.
• Maintain dependability and punctuality.
• Display professionalism and courtesy.
• Perform strenuous work in various weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

Must meet physical demands including standing, walking, manipulating objects, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 50-100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment

• Work in all weather conditions.
• Extended hours as needed.
• Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, moving mechanical parts, heights, and outdoor conditions.
• Noise levels may be loud in some areas.
