Job summary

Oldcastle, a CRH company, is hiring for an Asphalt Paving Laborer / Traffic Control (Construction) in the United States. The role involves operating plant machinery according to safety policies to produce a high-quality product.

Responsibilities include reading specifications, setting machine stops, monitoring operation for defects, and assisting in setup and maintenance. A high school diploma or related experience is required, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work flexible hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 1 month related experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance manuals.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
• Basic math: add/subtract/multiply/divide in all units.
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine adjustments and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale or templates.
• Observe machine operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Review product for inconsistencies meeting quality requirements.
• Perform routine machine maintenance.
• Assist other operators to set up machines and meet deadlines.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned area.
• Other duties as assigned.
