Job Description:

Perform asphalt paving machine operator duties on an asphalt paving lay-down crew.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Operate asphalt rubber-tired and track paving machines that spread and level asphalt on highways, parking lots, streets, etc.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oiling, greasing, and servicing equipment.
• Make adjustments and install or remove accessories like screed extensions and automatic devices.
• Guide and direct dump trucks backing up to the hopper.

Minimum Qualifications & Training:

• One year of experience preferred but training will be provided for the right candidate.
• Valid NC Driver's License encouraged.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks related to paving operations.
• Ability to follow precise instructions and adhere to safety rules and policies.
• Reliable, trustworthy team player with good attendance and safety record.
• Ability to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and some nights as needed.
• Military Base pass may be required for some positions.

Tasks Essential to Job Functions:

• Physical activities include standing, walking, stretching, bending, lifting, pulling, twisting, reaching, and squatting.
• Regularly lift 25 pounds or more; occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Work may involve long hours, up to 12-15 hours per day.
• Exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
• Travel to and from work; company vehicle driving standards apply if applicable.
• Overtime may be required.
