Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an Asphalt Laborer to assist with the placement, finishing, and maintenance of asphalt on construction projects. This role supports paving crews to complete jobs safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.

Responsibilities include shoveling, raking, signaling around heavy equipment, and ensuring proper thickness and finish while following grade instructions. Physical labor, outdoors, with potential for overtime and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the placement, spreading, and leveling of asphalt materials.
• Support paving operations, including shoveling, raking, and smoothing asphalt.
• Work around heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, and trucks.
• Follow grade and prep instructions to ensure proper thickness and finish.
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas before, during, and after projects.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
• Direct traffic and maintain safe work zones as needed.
• Follow all safety protocols, including OSHA and company safety policies.
• Work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
