Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road in North Texas seeks an Asphalt Operations Manager to supervise crews performing hotmix paving, ensuring production stays on schedule and costs remain in check. You will collaborate with owner representatives, developers, vendors, subcontractors, and project management to maintain safety, quality, and efficient operations across projects.

The role requires a civil engineering or construction management background, strong leadership, and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to jobsite safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Plan and support PM with operations scope, work plans, and staffing.
• Monitor labor costs and productivity; advise on bid estimates and change orders.
• Develop detailed weekly plans and 3-week schedules; coordinate equipment and personnel.
• Inspect field work to maintain high-quality workmanship; supervise staff on site.
• Enforce safety policies and administer SHE guidelines on projects.
• Provide technical guidance to resolve day-to-day construction problems and coordinate with designers/engineers.
