Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various asphalt paving equipment such as pavers, rollers, skid steers, milling machines, and tack/tarring machines.
• Prepare construction sites by removing debris and waste materials.
• Shovel, rake, and finish asphalt and other materials like concrete and dirt on construction projects.
• Assist with placement and movement of traffic control devices and patterns.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site, handling materials, tools, and equipment properly.
• Lift and carry objects of various weights.
• Help keep equipment clean and in good condition.
• Use PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vests, steel toe boots, and gloves.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting other divisions if needed.

Position Requirements:

• Preferred experience in asphalt paving and/or road construction.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, nights, and overtime as required.
• Follow manager’s instructions for daily tasks and project expectations.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Report to work at scheduled start times.
• Attention to detail and stress tolerance.

Environment

This role involves outdoor work in various climate conditions, from cold and rainy to hot and humid. Noise levels are moderate to high, with occasional exposure to machine noise.
