Base pay range

$25.00/hr - $30.00/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various asphalt paving equipment including pavers, rollers, skid steers, milling machines, and tack/tarring machines.
• Prepare construction sites by removing debris and waste materials.
• Shovel, rake, and finish asphalt, concrete, dirt, and other aggregates.
• Assist with traffic control and placement of traffic devices.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized worksite.
• Lift and carry objects of various weights.
• Help maintain and clean equipment.
• Use PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, high visibility vests, steel toe boots, and gloves.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including assisting other divisions when necessary.

Position Requirements:

• Experience in asphalt paving and/or road construction preferred.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, nights, and overtime.
• Follow manager’s instructions regarding daily tasks and project expectations.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Report to work at the designated start time.
• Attention to detail and stress tolerance.

Environment:

This role involves outdoor work in various climate conditions, from cold and rainy to hot and humid. Noise levels are moderate to high, with occasional exposure to machinery noise.
