Job summary

APAC Alabama, Inc., a CRH company, is seeking a full-time Equipment and Machine Operator to operate the Asphalt Distributor on road construction projects in Alabama. Candidate must hold a current CDL license, preferably with a Tanker endorsement, and be prepared to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.

The role emphasizes safe operation, performing routine maintenance, and basic hand work as needed, with opportunities to contribute to efficient, high-quality paving across our southeastern US

Qualifications

• Must have a current CDL license, preferably with Tanker endorsement.
• Must be able to learn how to operate an Asphalt Distributor Truck.
• Must pass DOT physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Asphalt Distributor Truck on road construction projects.
• Set spray bar on distributors for applying liquid asphalt.
• Oil, grease, service and perform normal adjustments to equipment.
• Maintain the equipment and refer major problems to supervision.
• May perform shovel work, set string lines, and adjust screed extensions as needed.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos; perform basic arithmetic as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Must have a current CDL license preferrably with Tanker endorsement and the ability to learn how tooperate an Asphalt Distributor Truck

Set spray bar on manual, automatic, or semi-automatic distributors for applying liquid asphalt .

May oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to equipment.

The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.

May perform other related duties such as shovel work, setting string line, adding or removing screed extensions.

Must pass DOT physical/drug screen
