9:00 PM – 5:30 AM

Primary Purpose:
The ASM Technician I provides pre- and post-analytic support for laboratory testing sections within ARUP. Responsibilities include maintaining specimen integrity during transport, storing specimens, supporting equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, and delivering excellent customer service to ARUP staff.

Essential Functions:

• Handle specimens during transport according to departmental procedures.
• Manage specimens on automated systems.
• Store specimens in automated and manual systems.
• Develop proficiency with automation and laboratory information systems (e.g., MasterControl, LEaP, Millennium).
• Maintain work areas and document cleaning and maintenance.
• Understand and support Quality Assurance programs.
• Develop critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
• Participate in training and stay informed of procedural updates.
• Adhere to safety regulations and ARUP policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical and Other Requirements:
Includes stooping, reaching, mobility, communication, PPE use, sedentary work, fine motor control, visual and color perception.
