Job summary

Mn State Academies seeks a Special Teacher: Speech Language Pathologist- ASL to support Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and visually impaired students in Faribault. The role is full-time within a 10-month school calendar, primarily day shift, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications include a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology, Minnesota SLP license, and ASL proficiency; experience with IFSP/IEP development and collaborative multidisciplinary work is essential. Telework is not available.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Minnesota SLP license or eligibility to obtain by start date.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) at required level (SLPI).
  • Knowledge of speech-language development, speech and hearing science, and evaluation/treatment of communication disorders.
  • Experience completing SLP evaluations, writing reports, and contributing to IFSP/IEP development in compliance with due process.

Responsibilities

  • Help students develop communication skills with peers and adults.
  • Provide individual and group intervention for articulation, language, pragmatic language, and augmentative communication needs.
  • Attend meetings and write IFSP/IEP goals/outcomes based on evaluations.
  • Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Work with students with complex learning, communication, sensory, or behavioral needs using evidence-based practices.
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and alternative communication systems to ensure equitable access.

State license in SLP (Minnesota)
