Job summary

Solian t Health is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support a 5th-grade student for the 2026-27 school year in a U.S. Illinois classroom. This contract role begins August 11, 2026, with consistent hours and a focus on accessibility and inclusion.

The interpreter will provide real-time ASL interpretation for classroom and related activities, collaborating with teachers, staff, and families to ensure full participation and understanding of lessons.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in ASL with proven fluency.
• Experience interpreting in K-12 settings, especially with elementary students, preferred.
• Current applicable certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter.
• Ability to follow school policies and maintain confidentiality.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with educators and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpreting services for a 5th-grade student in a classroom environment and during related school activities.
• Facilitate communication between the student, peers, and staff to support full participation in educational and social contexts.
• Clarify lesson content, instructions, and classroom discussions to ensure understanding.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to address student needs and progress.
• Maintain accurate records of interpreting sessions in compliance with school and district policies.
