Job summary

ProCare Therapy is seeking a Sign Language Interpreter to support students and staff in a school near Oak Forest, IL. This contract role provides interpretation to ensure effective communication and equal access. The position is 5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with two openings.

Compensation is $31–$33 per hour, with weekly pay and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k match, and flexible spending accounts. Eligible license required: Illinois SLI from ISBE.

Qualifications

• Illinois SLI license issued through ISBE.
• Experience interpreting for children or adolescents in educational settings (preferred).
• Mastery of expressive and receptive American Sign Language skills.
• Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, aides, and educational teams.
• Commitment to upholding confidentiality and ethics per industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing, their peers, and staff.
• Interpreting classroom discussions, assemblies, and school events.
• Assisting with IEP meetings or other related services as needed.
• Supporting students' social and academic growth through clear, accurate interpretation.
• Adhering to school policies and fostering an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
