Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota teaching license – at minimum a Short Call Substitute License.
• Knowledge of deaf/hard of hearing and deaf/blind students and educational practices.
• Fluency in American Sign Language.
• Read and write English to understand policies and education plans and to maintain records.
• Human relations skills to establish rapport with students.

Responsibilities

• Substitute teachers in the classroom teaching deaf/hard of hearing students.
• Design and deliver instructional programs for deaf/hard of hearing or deaf/blind students.
• Provide instruction and use techniques to encourage appropriate behaviors.
