Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking American Sign Language Onsite Contract Interpreters in the Kansas City metro area to provide accurate English–ASL interpretation for onsite assignments. The role includes potential remote interpretation and requires adherence to professional standards and client requirements.

Applicants should be fluent in English and ASL, have at least one ASL certification (RID/EIPA/BEI) and be able to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

• Native English and American Sign Language proficiency required.
• Ability to interpret between English and ASL.
• One or more years of professional interpreting experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and ASL during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to privacy, security, and ethics requirements.
• Travel to and from accepted onsite assignments as needed.
