Job summary

Port View Preparatory, an ABA-focused educational setting, seeks an ASL Language Support Paraeducator to provide direct ASL communication and language reinforcement for a Deaf student during the school day. You will implement individualized programs and gather accurate data to support progress in collaboration with teachers and the behavior department.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in ASL or Deaf Studies preferred.
• ASLPI Level 4 or SLPI:ASL Advanced or higher.
• Ability to understand and communicate in ASL at a natural conversational rate across topics.
• Competency in ASL grammar, nonmanual markers, and signing nuances.
• Ability to adjust communication to student needs without Anglified word order.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent ASL communication and language modeling for a Deaf student.
• Implement individualized education and behavior programs with accurate data collection.
