Job summary

Behavioral Emotional and Academic Mentoring LLC is seeking a part-time paraprofessional to support students with special needs in the Montebello Unified School District. The role involves direct student assistance, in-class support, and collaboration with district staff during school hours.

Must know ASL. Responsibilities include classroom activities, materials preparation, technology support, social skills development, and safety/compliance tasks.

Qualifications

• Must know ASL and communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Ability to understand and anticipate the needs of children.
• Operate classroom technology equipment as needed.
• Establish professional relationships with children and adults.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all tasks.

Responsibilities

• Direct support to students with special needs throughout the day.
• Participate in activities planned by school district staff.
• Prepare and develop instructional training activities and materials.
• Assist in in-class activities and maintain an orderly classroom.
• Provide instruction to students individually or in groups.
• Support with classroom technology, adaptive devices, and equipment.
• Assist with social skills, toileting, hygiene, and supervision as needed.
• Contribute to crisis intervention and discipline under supervision.
• Attend program planning meetings and support assigned duties.
