Qualifications

• Serve as bilingual liaison between Deaf and hearing faculty, staff, and program partners.
• Maintain program records, inventory, tracking logs, and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The ASL Lab & Instructional Support Technician provides specialized professional and technical support to the American Sign Language Interpreter Education (ASLIE) program. This position coordinates instructional support activities, provides direct student support in ASL, manages course content and instructional materials, and supports operational and technical functions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Open, monitor, and maintain the ASL Lab.

Provide direct student support with ASL grammar, vocabulary, receptive and expressive skills, and conversation practice.

Serve as a Deaf language model and cultural resource.

Coordinate EIPA assessment logistics and student registration.

Coordinate the ASLIE program application process.

Maintain ASL instructional videos and course content across ASLIE courses in Canvas.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Cyclic schedule (11 months, 32 hours per week).

6-month probationary period.

May require infrequent local or regional travel.
