Job summary

Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking an ASL Lab & Instructional Support Technician to provide specialized professional support to the ASLIE program and coordinate instructional activities.

The role includes direct student ASL support, managing course content in Canvas, and technical support for Panopto and hardware, while serving as a bilingual liaison between Deaf and hearing faculty and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Professional fluency in American Sign Language.
• Two or more years in an administrative support environment.
• Experience with computers and office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, deadlines, and priorities.
• Ability to track, monitor, and reconcile budgets.
• Experience maintaining confidentiality and working independently.

Responsibilities

• Open, monitor, and maintain the ASL Lab.
• Provide direct student support with ASL grammar, vocabulary, receptive and expressive skills, and conversation practice.
• Serve as Deaf language model and cultural resource.
• Coordinate EIPA assessment logistics and student registration.
• Coordinate the ASLIE program application process.
• Maintain ASL instructional videos and course content across ASLIE courses in Canvas.
• Edit and maintain instructional materials and develop student instructional videos.
• Provide technical support for Canvas, Panopto, hardware, and software.
• Serve as bilingual liaison between Deaf and hearing faculty, staff, and program partners.
• Maintain program records, inventory, tracking logs, and equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
