Job summary

The American School for the Deaf (ASD) seeks an ASD Campus Interpreting Manager to lead ASD Campus Interpreting Services. You will supervise interpreters, coordinate scheduling for major campus events, and manage payroll and reporting in collaboration with the CFOO.

The role emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration across departments, and building partnerships with staff, students, and community partners. A bachelor's degree and prior supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• ASL fluency required and demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong leadership with experience supervising staff and contractors.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related technology platforms.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, supervise, and evaluate department personnel including employees and independent contractors.
• Manage daily operations to address interpreting needs promptly and efficiently.
• Oversee payroll and billing submissions to Business Office.
• Coordinate interpreter scheduling for campus events with Scheduling Coordinator.
• Assess requests and allocate resources for coverage across campus.
• Produce quarterly reports on requests, hours, utilization, and performance for CFOO.
• Ensure coverage for on-call, VRI, and emergency interpreting services.
• Serve as liaison for campus departments on interpreting policies and procedures.
