Job summary

Boyd Gaming Corporation seeks an experienced cook to join the kitchen team in Missouri. You will learn all outlets, read orders, and prepare items per standard recipes to ensure consistent quality for guests in an open kitchen environment.

Typical duties include cooking across stations, maintaining sanitation, and assisting in directing junior cooks while coordinating with dining room staff. Must meet physical requirements and obtain necessary licenses.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a cook.
• Stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
• Lift, carry, and maneuver up to 75 pounds.
• Other physical requirements include reaching, grasping, bending, kneeling, and twisting.
• Must obtain/maintain any necessary licenses or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Learn and be familiar with all kitchen outlets and answer questions about the property.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly.
• Read orders and prepare items according to standard recipes and menus.
• Prepare all items to ensure consistency and quality.
• Wash, slice, and prepare foods; handle delicate equipment safely.
• Monitor food quality and use tasting/odor checks to ensure doneness.
• Assist in directing kitchen staff and manage daily prep lists.
• Maintain kitchen safety, sanitation, and cleanliness per Health Department guidelines.
• Coordinate with dining room staff and manage open kitchen guest interactions.
• Support chefs and supervisors and assist in staffing decisions based on volume.
