Job summary

Merck & Co. in Wilson, NC seeks an Associate Technician, Maintenance (1st Shift) to support the Vaccines inverse process team.

You will perform maintenance on pharmaceutical process equipment, support aseptic filling, CIP/SIP, and inspection tasks, and contribute to continuous improvement with a focus on data integrity and safety. You will operate within a team-based culture, adhere to cGMPs and SOPs, and assist with documentation while maintaining high quality standards and efficient production

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in a GMP manufacturing facility including maintenance experience (aseptic GMP environment strongly preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as team member
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to influence and assist others through a culture of inclusion, feedback, and empowerment
• Ability to gown and work in an aseptic environment
• Demonstrated ability to work with computerized and automated systems.
• Willing to work irregular hours to support multi-shift operation on an as needed basis

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and operations functions in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) and SOPs
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment
• Disassemble and inspect parts and equipment to determine root cause of malfunctions
• Set up and perform aseptic vaccine manufacturing including filling, inspection, CIP/SIP, and packaging within qualified parameters
• Identify equipment problems and work with Vaccines Maintenance Technicians on resolution
