Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience as a mechanic or relevant experience.
• CDL License or Commercial Learner's Permit (CDL required within 6 months of hire).
• NY State Safety Inspection License (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Certificate for Air Brakes Inspection (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Certificate for handling automotive refrigerant (MACS with EPA number) (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of all types of motor vehicles and special equipment in Verizon fleet.
• Diagnose, maintain and repair company equipment including aerial lifts, diggers, generators, tools, etc.
• Use computer test equipment to diagnose vehicle problems.
• Interface with vehicle users regarding repairs and questions.
• Perform inspections on company vehicles (OSHA, ANSI, emissions, state).
• Use fleet maintenance tracking systems for work assignments, records, time reporting, parts inventory.
• Obtain and maintain all required certificates or licenses.
• Work evenings, weekends, holidays, and unscheduled shifts as needed.
• Work tour hours 3pm–11pm, Monday through Friday (hours may vary).
• Overtime as needed by the Company.
