Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an automotive technician to inspect, diagnose and repair tire and vehicle systems while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You will explain findings to customers and coworkers, continuously learn new techniques, and mentor junior staff in a fast-paced shop environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1+ year of experience, and ASE certifications. Valid driver’s license and a pre-employment background check are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of automotive diagnosis/repair experience.
• 2+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension; A5 Brakes).
• Section 609 certification preferred.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and teammates.
• Mentor and assist fellow technicians; learn new techniques in training sessions.
• Maintain a clean, organized shop and follow safety/environmental rules.
• Be available to work days, nights, holidays and weekends as needed.
