Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to professionally inspect, diagnose and repair tire and automotive services while delivering an excellent customer experience. You will explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and co-workers and stay updated with evolving automotive technology.

In this role you will mentor teammates, maintain a clean, safe shop, and adhere to company policies.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 1 year of strong automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes).
609 certification preferred.
State Inspection license if applicable.
High motivation, energy and customer-focused attitude.
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Background check completion required.
Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, electrical, cooling, suspension and alignment systems.
Conduct maintenance services as needed and assist other technicians.
Explain diagnoses and repairs to customers and non-mechanical staff as required.
Continuously learn new automotive tech information in formal training sessions.
Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
Keep management informed of repair issues as they arise.
Maintain an organized, clean, and safe shop.
Adhere to company policies, safety, and environmental rules.
