Job summary

VIP Auto is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, following safety and VIP quality standards to ensure first-time-right service. The role requires completing service work orders, MPI, and maintaining safety and housekeeping in a fast-paced shop.

You will work toward ASE certifications (G1, A4, A5) and participate in ongoing training, with a standard 5-day work week and 40 hours. This is a non-exempt/hourly, on-site position in Worcester, MA.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Effectively explain vehicle information to customers and respond to questions from coworkers.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems.
• Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to perform automotive services listed above.

Responsibilities

• Maintain workplace safety as priority and follow safety policies.
• Provide diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems.
• Initiate and display Service Work Order on vehicle.
• Complete MPI prior to service and support 5-for-5 process.
• Order parts from Desk Team and return unused parts after service.
• Return cores, batteries, and used tires to designated areas.
• Maintain productivity targets (min 50% to 100% depending on role).
• Follow VIP quality service policies and complete required training.
• Attend meetings and training sessions as needed.
• Maintain shop and equipment in a safe, clean condition.
