Job summary

VIP, Inc is seeking a Flat Rate Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems, and perform routine maintenance with safety and customer service as core priorities.

The technician will work under the direction of the Service Manager, handle service work orders, parts intake, and maintain a clean, safe shop environment while meeting productivity targets and pursuing ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journal and procedures, or governmental regulations
• Effectively explain vehicle information to customers, present and respond to questions from coworkers
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
• Interpret, understand, and apply instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Ability to successfully perform required types of automotive services listed above

Responsibilities

• Maintains a minimum 50% productivity, measured as billed hours / worked hours
• Provides automotive systems diagnosis, repair, and maintenance services for customers, including ASE-certified systems
• Follows VIP safety policies and procedures and ensures service work orders are initiated and displayed
• Obtains needed parts from Desk Team and returns unused parts after service
• Maintains a clean and safe work area and participates in shop maintenance and safety programs
• Ensures proper documentation and adherence to VIP’s quality service standards
• Completes required LMS training and certification for the position
