Job summary

Colonial Group seeks an ASE Technician to diagnose and repair automotive systems in a safety‑conscious shop environment. You will work on multiple ASE areas, follow established service orders and MPI procedures, and maintain high quality through proper parts handling and customer engagement.

This non-exempt hourly role reports to the Service Manager in Portland, ME, with standard 40‑hour weeks and ongoing training to advance ASE credentials.

Qualifications

• Read, analyze, and interpret technical instructions, journals, and procedures
• Explain vehicle information clearly to customers and coworkers
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to basic automotive problems
• Interpret and apply instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Successfully perform required automotive services listed in ASE categories

Responsibilities

• Ensure workplace safety is Priority #1 and follow safety policies
• Provide diagnosis, repair, and maintenance for automotive systems including ASE A1–A8
• Ensure a valid Service Work Order is initiated before service and displayed with the vehicle
• Complete MPI and support the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process
• Procure needed parts from Desk Team and return unused parts after service
• Maintain productivity targets per ASE Technician levels and adhere to VIP quality standards
• Complete required trainings and certifications for the position
