Job summary

Colonial Group in Brewer, Maine seeks an ASE Technician to diagnose automotive systems, perform repairs and replacements, and help deliver safe, reliable service to customers. The technician must follow safety policies, maintain tools and parts, and work with the Service Manager to ensure first-time quality.

Responsibilities include completing service orders, obtaining parts through the desk, supporting 5-for-5 customer engagement, and pursuing ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions and safety procedures.
• Explain vehicle information clearly to customers and coworkers.
• Diagnose and recommend solutions to automotive problems.
• Understand and apply written/oral instructions and schedules.
• Perform automotive services listed in ASE certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize workplace safety and follow all safety policies.
• Diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicle systems and components per ASE standards (A1–A8).
• Initiate and display valid service work orders before servicing a vehicle.
• Complete MPI and participate in the 5-for-5 Customer Engagement process.
• Return unused parts to the desk and manage cores, batteries, and tires properly.
• Maintain minimum productivity targets and support shop cleanliness and safety policies.
