Job summary

Remedy Education are seeking an ASD Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEN/Secondary School in Greenwich. The role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and a range of additional needs, helping them access learning and daily routines.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, support communication and emotional regulation, and assist teachers with differentiated tasks. The position offers a full-time timetable with an ASAP start.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with ASD or SEN.
• Patient, caring and resilient approach.
• Confident supporting pupils with communication and learning needs.
• Good behaviour management and communication skills.
• Experience in school, care, youth work, mentoring or childcare is desirable.
• An Enhanced DBS on update service or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism and additional needs.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to encourage engagement and progress.
• Help pupils access classroom activities and follow daily routines.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Assist teachers with learning resources and differentiated tasks.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Provide a calm and consistent approach throughout the school day.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff.
