Job summary

Glenwood is seeking a Behavior Teacher Assistant to support students with autism spectrum disorder in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting in Birmingham, AL. You will work with Special Educators, BCBAs, and therapists to implement individualized programs and track progress.

The role emphasizes data collection, crisis response, and hands-on support for students’ daily living skills, with opportunities for RBT certification and BCBA supervision hours.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or GED required; Associate or BA in Human Services preferred.
• Must pass state background checks and required pre-employment screenings.
• CPR/First Aid and Crisis Management certifications or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized lessons for students with ASD.
• Assist with classroom management and daily activities.
• Execute Behavior Support Plans and ABA-based interventions.
• Provide crisis intervention per established protocols.
• Collect and maintain accurate student data on progress.
• Assist students with daily living skills and personal hygiene.
