Job summary

LCB Senior Living, LLC is hiring as-needed Chefs for The Residence at Westport in Westport, CT. The position offers an hourly wage band of $24.00 to $26.50 based on experience.

You will provide a restaurant-style dining experience, collaborate with the Culinary Services Director and Executive Director, and help supervise culinary staff while supporting dining programs for residents. This role emphasizes servicing seniors and contributing to a positive team environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; 1–3 years cook experience in hospitality/healthcare.
• Serve Safe Certification.
• Able to read and follow recipes and production guides.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high level of customer service and promote a restaurant style dining atmosphere.
• Work with Culinary Services Director to keep residents satisfied with food and dining programs.
• Able to assist Culinary Director with supervision of culinary staff.
• Assist with the preparation and execution of the LCB Dining enhancement programs.
• Maintain kitchen and food storage and preparation areas in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
• Responsible for opening and/or closing of the kitchen.
• Adhere to cleaning schedules as assigned.
• Ensure all food is received, stored and prepared to company standards.
• Estimate daily or weekly needs of food and supplies and communicate needs to food service director.
• Participate in preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and menus.
• Document temperatures of food prior to service, refrigeration and freezer temperatures.
• Prepare and ensure snacks and beverages are available to residents at all times.
• Keep kitchen floors clean and trash emptied.
• Assist with transportation and storage of food and supplies.
• Assist with special events, banquets, and theme meals.
