Job summary

HES is seeking a Custodian for Alton School District in Alton, IL. This as-needed, second and third shift position involves cleaning, maintaining facilities, and supporting daily operations to meet client standards.

The successful candidate will have prior custodial experience, work independently, follow safety procedures, and be able to lift and perform physical tasks. This role reports to the Account Manager and requires flexibility to cover shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience required.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Able to follow basic safety procedures due to exposure to hazards and chemicals.
• Able to train new hires.
• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive guest service demeanor towards guests, clients and co-workers.
• Adaptable to client needs.
• This role may have physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing, with PPE use.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including OSHA, state/local, federal, and HES regulations.
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment to protect the safety and health of others
• Accurately cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment
• Cleans assigned areas to HES and client standards and requirements.
• Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
• Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
• Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
• Ensures security of company assets
• Summer Project Work
• Winter – Ice & Snow Removal
