Job summary

HES is seeking a dependable custodian for Alton School District, performing cleaning and maintenance duties in accordance with client requirements and safety standards. The role may include supervising or guiding others and handling routine upkeep to protect occupants and facilities.

As a custodian, you will follow established safety procedures, operate cleaning equipment, and support seasonal tasks such as ice and snow removal while contributing to a welcoming, well-maintained environment for

Qualifications

• Previous custodial experience required
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Able to train new hires
• Maintains friendly, efficient, positive guest service demeanor towards guests, clients and co‑workers.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and HES regulations.
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment to protect the safety and health of others
• Accurately cleans and maintains housekeeping equipment
• Cleans assigned areas to HES and client standards and requirements.
• Follows procedures for storage and disposal of trash and transports it to designated areas
• Reports maintenance concerns via work order requests to appropriate personnel
• Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
• Ensures security of company assets
• Summer Project Work
• Winter – Ice & Snow Removal
