Job summary

Cogent Infotech is seeking an experienced AS/400 Developer to support the IBM i environment under a 12-month contract in Oklahoma City. The role emphasizes application maintenance and development within a hosted infrastructure.

You'll work with RPG IV, RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i, coordinating with the hosting provider and state IT leadership on data extraction, legacy logic documentation, and cloud migration efforts.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of hands-on AS400 (IBM i) development and support.
• Proficiency in RPG IV (ILE RPG), RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i.
• Experience hosting in a hosted/managed AS400 environment.
• Experience in IBM i work management, subsystem coordination, application security, and user profile management.

Responsibilities

• Legacy maintenance and support for RPG-based applications.
• Coordinate with hosting provider for patching, backups, and environment changes.
• Manage application security, user profiles, and audit logs.
• Administer DB2 for i, tune queries and indexes.
• Assist with data extraction and cloud-migration readiness.
