Job summary

State of Oklahoma - Government Agency is seeking a part-time AS/400 Developer/Admin on a 1-year contract (20 hours per week) in Oklahoma City, OK, with hybrid options and local candidates preferred.

The role focuses on maintenance, database administration, and application-level administration for the IBM i environment, including RPG IV, RPGLE, CL, and DB2 for i, plus coordination with hosting providers and security management.

Qualifications

• 5 years of hands-on AS400 development and support.
• Proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, CL, and SQL on DB2 for i.
• Experience in hosted/managed AS400 environments with external hosting providers (e.g., Ensono).
• Strong IBM i work management, subsystems, application security, and user profile management.
• Experience with file transfer automation (FTP/SFTP) and external integrations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, modify, and optimize RPG/RPGLE/CL code.
• Troubleshoot operational bugs and batch issues.
• Update logic for regulatory changes and agency processes.
• Coordinate with hosting provider for maintenance, OS patching, and utilities.
• Manage application security configurations and audit logs (QAUDJRN).
• Manage local job queues, subsystems, and job schedulers.
• Coordinate with Ensono teams for backups and DR testing.
• Tune DB2 for i databases and optimize SQL queries.
• Support secure file transfers between hosted AS400 and partner systems.
• Collaborate with state DBAs and cloud architects on legacy data transition.
• Document system flows and DB schemas for cloud transition.
