Job summary

The North Carolina Arts Council, part of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, seeks an Arts Learning Coordinator to support professional development and educator initiatives across the state. You will manage registrations, contracts, and logistics, and collaborate with artists, fellows, and school leaders to ensure smooth program delivery.

The role involves coordinating events, providing technical support, and assisting with marketing for arts education initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in art, English, one of the performing arts, or arts administration, from an appropriately accredited institution.
  • Two years of experience in arts program administration or development work, or an equivalent combination.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated experience coordinating events and professional development workshops.
  • Experience with digital apps and platforms (Microsoft Teams, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Manage logistics for professional development institutes, conferences, meetings, and workshops. Complete needs assessments and facilitate post-event evaluation.
  • Provide support for A+ Fellows serving as contracted faculty for PD experiences.
  • Plan, manage, and facilitate summer training institutes for A+ Schools and PD opportunities for educators and arts leaders.
  • Provide technical assistance for schools and educators, responding to queries and sharing resources.
  • Disseminate program information and maintain updates to the network of A+ Schools and Fellows via email, webinars, and calls.
