Pouring With Heart is seeking a Security Host to create a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff at our venue in Los Angeles. You will balance professionalism with hospitality, serving as the first and last impression of the bar while maintaining order.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the floor and bar areas for safety concerns, escalating issues when necessary.
• Support staff and guests through conflict resolution and clear communication.
• Use de-escalation techniques to manage situations calmly and respectfully.
• Assist with crowd flow, line management, and capacity control during peak hours.
• Report incidents, hazards, or policy violations to leadership promptly.
• Follow all health, safety, and compliance standards, including responsible alcohol service and emergency procedures.

As a Security Host, you are responsible for creating a safe and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. You represent the first and last impression of the bar, balancing professionalism and hospitality with the awareness and confidence needed to maintain order.

About The Bar

Arts District Brewing Company is an award-winning brewery in the heart of Downtown L.A.’s historic Arts District. Since opening in 2015, Arts has become a neighborhood gathering place built around craft beer, cocktails, food, games, and community. With 30 rotating craft beers, a full bar, expansive outdoor spaces, and multiple bars offering their own distinct experience, there’s something for everyone.

The Pay

• $27 to $30 an hour ($20 to $25 an hour base pay + tips)

Duties

• Greet guests warmly and set the tone for a safe, welcoming environment

Required Skills/Qualifications

• 3+ years prior security, guest services, or hospitality experience preferred
• Strong situational awareness, confidence, and professionalism under pressure
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts with patience, respect, and clear communication
• Must be 21+ and have valid security guard certifications if required (varies by state)

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to lift and move 100+ pounds
• Fast-paced movements and mobility required to cover bar and floor space efficiently
• Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as part of daily bar operations
