Job Summary/Basic Function:

The Arts Center is seeking a reliable and motivated student worker to assist with both front-of-house and technical operations. This position supports a wide range of events, including concerts, film screenings, lectures, and community rentals. The ideal candidate will be dependable, customer service-oriented, and willing to learn basic technical and administrative skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Full time (12 credits)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Federal Work Study Eligible
  • Assist with box office operations, including ticket sales, will call, and customer service
  • Greet and assist patrons before and during events
  • Serve as an usher or house manager when needed
  • Support technical director with event setup, lighting, sound, and staging (training provided)
  • Help with post-event cleanup and equipment storage
  • Assist with marketing tasks such as posting flyers and updating signage
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and staff meetings
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds (e.g., chairs, cables, small equipment)
  • Comfortable with climbing stairs and occasional use of ladders (for technical setup)
  • Manual dexterity to operate computer systems, phones, and technical equipment
  • Ability to work in low-light or darkened theater environments during performances
  • Occasional bending, reaching, and carrying event-related materials
  • Must be able to communicate clearly with patrons, staff, and team members in a busy environment
Work Hours:

Mon-Fri, evenings and some weekends depending on performances in the Arts Center; will work around student schedule
