Job summary

New England Conservatory seeks a Director of Career Services and Entrepreneurial Studies to lead the OCSES, integrating professional skills, entrepreneurial training, and arts leadership into NEC’s student experience.

The role partners with Academic Affairs and CEPS to bridge classroom learning with career pathways, expands internships, and oversees career mentoring initiatives across Boston and beyond.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and at least 7+ years of professional experience in arts administration, management, or cultural entrepreneurship.
• A Master’s Degree is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with faculty to embed entrepreneurial mindsets and leadership skills directly into academic coursework.
• Past experience in college student advising or mentorship, linking academic study to professional practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead evolution of the department by integrating arts leadership and civic engagement into the student experience.
• Collaborate with CEPS to enhance support for students’ career endeavors.
• Oversee internships and fellowship programs, including grants and partnerships.
• Provide advising to students on resumes, grants, auditions, and Fulbright applications.
• Manage budgets, internships, and relationships with external partners.
