Job summary

Geffen Playhouse, located in Los Angeles, seeks a Company Manager to lead artist care, logistics, and contract administration for visiting and local artists. The role collaborates with artists, creative teams, and internal departments to ensure a welcoming, well-managed experience from offer through closing night.

This is a hospitality-forward administrative position requiring superb organization, discretion, and calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in company management, general management, production management, stage management, arts administration, or related theatre experience.
• Familiarity with Actors’ Equity Association agreements; LORT experience preferred.
• Strong budgeting, financial tracking, and spreadsheet skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities; discretion with confidential information.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with databases, payroll, and CRM systems.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Casting and General Management on artist offers, onboarding, and engagement administration.
• Draft, issue, track, and maintain Actors’ Equity Association contracts, riders, amendments, and employment documentation.
• Coordinate housing, travel, and per diem for artists and creative teams.
• Review and reconcile housing stipends, travel reimbursements, and petty cash expenses.
• Serve as primary contact for artist concerns, emergencies, and sensitive matters requiring discretion.
• Oversee artist payroll administration in coordination with Finance and HR.
• Maintain records of artist engagements, payroll, and compliance; represent Geffen professionally.
