Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You will use artistic skills to craft high-quality products and provide outstanding customer service while adhering to food safety standards.

You will support Apprentices and fellow team members, follow official procedures, and contribute to store initiatives while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient bakery environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Complete the Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program, or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures to meet demand and maintain records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in the display case and ensure freshness and proper rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and Team Members; assist with special order designs.
• Deliver excellent customer service and handle calls and inquiries promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and comply with safety standards.
