Job summary

Whole Foods Market is seeking a dedicated Bakery Decorator to craft and finish cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items. You will use artistic skills to create visually appealing treats while upholding quality standards and safety protocols.

In this role you’ll train apprentices, assist teammates, and provide exceptional service to customers, ensuring themed designs meet specifications and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with intermediate piping techniques.
• Understand color theory for buttercream colors and palettes.
• Follow recipes and procedures with good time management.
• Basic math for recipe conversions and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes following standard procedures to meet demand.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise products in display case and ensure freshness and rotation.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and teammates.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and maintain clean, safe working environment.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
