The role requires efficient production, attention to detail, and the ability to train Apprentices in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Efficient cake and pastry decorating skills with piping and decorative flowers.
• Knowledge of color theory for buttercream blending.
• Proficient icing techniques: Swiss, American, Ganache, cream cheese, whipped cream, Chantilly, German chocolate, and meringue.
• Ability to follow recipes and procedures with strong time management.
• Advanced knife handling and equipment safety.
• Basic math for recipe conversions and modifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork.
• Ability to clearly communicate with team, customers, and vendors.
• Deliver excellent customer service with urgency and professionalism.
• Strong work ethic in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, select pastry, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures; maintain production and spoilage records.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and showcase products in the display case; monitor freshness and rotate stock.
• Provide guidance and support for Bakery Decorator Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs based on customer preferences.
• Provide excellent customer service, handle inquiries, and perform friendly, efficient phone/service duties.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace and ensure equipment cleanliness and safety standards.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
