Job summary

Whole Foods Market in our bakery department is seeking a skilled Bakery Decorator to create and decorate cakes, tarts, pastries, and special-order items, using artistic talents to ensure every detail meets our quality standards.

You will support our Core Values and store programs, maintain a clean, safe workspace, and provide excellent service to customers and team members in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 6–12 months retail or restaurant experience.
• Bakery Decorator Apprentice training program or equivalent experience.
• Prior experience in a professional bakery or grocery retail is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, fill, and finish/decorate cakes, tarts, and special-order bakery items.
• Build, ice, and decorate cakes and other bakery items following standard procedures.
• Prioritize production lists and adjust as needed.
• Merchandise and display products in the sales case and monitor freshness.
• Provide guidance to Apprentices and other Team Members.
• Create special order cake designs per customer preferences.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist with phones and pages promptly.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary bakery environment and ensure equipment safety.
• Perform opening, mid, and closing duties with accurate signage and pricing.
