Job summary

DC Army National Guard is seeking a Cannon Crewmember to join a team that maintains battlefield readiness and delivers artillery capability. You will learn high-tech cannon weapons and artillery tactics, progressing to supervise crewmembers as responsibilities expand.

Entry requires enlistment in the Army National Guard, age requirements, and medical clearance. Training includes Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training with pay during drills.

Qualifications

• Must enlist in the Army National Guard and meet eligibility criteria.
• Must be physically fit and able to pass a medical exam.
• Must be able to work in a team and follow procedures precisely.

Responsibilities

• Conduct wire and radio communications in support of artillery operations.
• Identify target locations and set, load, and fire artillery.
• Use computers to generate fire direction data and assist in mission planning.
• Operate heavy and light vehicles and transport artillery ammunition.
• Maintain and ensure readiness of vehicles and equipment.
• Participate in reconnaissance operations as required.
