Job summary

DC Army National Guard in Washington state seeks a Cannon Crewmember to operate howitzers and learn advanced artillery tactics that support national defense. You will perform tasks such as target identification, firing and data entry, and equipment maintenance while training.

This role offers paid training, a regular drill weekend schedule, and tuition assistance as you build skills and serve your country. Initial 10-week Basic Training followed by seven weeks of Advanced Individual Training

Qualifications

• Physically and mentally fit to perform under pressure.
• Ability to make quick decisions in dynamic environments.
• Capable of working as a team member in a military setting.

Responsibilities

• Conducting wire and radio communications
• Identifying target locations
• Setting, loading, and firing artillery
• Using computers to generate fire direction data
• Operating heavy and light wheeled trucks and tracked vehicles
• Transporting and managing artillery ammunition
• Maintaining operational readiness of vehicles and equipment
• Participate in reconnaissance operations
