Job summary

Brooksource is seeking two Senior/Lead AI Engineers to support a Fortune 5 healthcare and insurance client on their Desktop of the Future (DoTF) initiative. This is a new, early-stage project built from the ground up, offering you the opportunity to shape an AI solution from inception to production.

You will lead architecture and design, develop AI capabilities including agents and copilots, integrate with enterprise apps, and mentor teams while upholding security, HIPAA, and PHI requirements.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering with focus on AI/GenAI.
• 3+ years in a senior technical, lead, or architecture role.
• Hands-on with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, or Llama.
• Proven design/architecture experience for AI solutions.
• Experience with agentic AI, AI agents, conversational AI, or automation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration.

About the Role

Brooksource is seeking (2) Senior/Lead AI Engineers to support a Fortune 5 healthcare and insurance client on their Desktop of the Future (DoTF) initiative.

This is a new, early‑stage project being built from the ground up, offering the opportunity to help shape a new AI solution from its initial stages through production. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on technical leader who is comfortable working in an evolving environment and helping establish the foundation for a new initiative.

Primary Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy and architecture for the Desktop of the Future (DoTF) initiative and lead the design, development, and deployment of the AI application.
• Build AI capabilities including AI Assist, agent‑assist, copilots, virtual assistants, next‑best‑action, call summaries, and intelligent automation.
• Design and build AI solutions leveraging LLMs, with RAG, semantic search, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge retrieval as applicable.
• Develop AI‑powered workflows, agentic workflows, conversational AI, and intelligent automation.
• Evaluate and optimize AI solutions for accuracy, reliability, performance, and response time.
• Integrate AI with enterprise applications, APIs, knowledge sources, and business workflows.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Engineering, UX, and business teams to define and implement AI solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship and establish best practices for AI development, testing, deployment, and scalability.
• Establish AI evaluation, security, governance, and responsible AI practices.
• Ensure solutions meet security, privacy, regulatory, HIPAA, and PHI requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Hands‑on Senior/Lead AI Engineer with experience building LLM‑powered & agentic AI solutions in a customer service, contact center, or healthcare/insurance environment.
• Experience supporting real‑time customer or member interactions is especially valuable, but not required.
• Comfortable working in an early‑stage environment, taking ownership, and helping shape a new AI solution from the ground up.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience with AI/ML/GenAI.
• 3+ years in a senior technical, lead, or architecture role.
• Hands‑on experience working with LLMs such as GPT, Claude, Gemini, or Llama.
• Proven experience leading the technical design and architecture of AI solutions, from early‑stage development through production.
• Experience with agentic AI, AI agents, conversational AI, or intelligent automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical and business stakeholders.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with AI Assist, agent‑assist, copilots, virtual assistants, or next‑best‑action solutions.
• Experience with contact center, customer service, or member service solutions.
• Healthcare insurance industry experience, particularly in regulated environments.
• Experience with RAG, semantic search, vector databases, or enterprise knowledge retrieval.
• Experience optimizing AI apps for performance, response time, accuracy, and reliability.
• Experience with Python, LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or LlamaIndex.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Full‑stack development experience, including Java/ReactJS/MongoDB, is a plus.
