Job description

OVERVIEW

We’re looking for a hands-on Art Director / Creative Manager with strong operational expertise to lead the design and execution of creative deliverables while managing the resourcing and workflow of freelance and internal creative talent. This role blends high-level design execution with strategic resourcing, project oversight, and quality control, ensuring all work aligns with brand standards and client expectations.

The ideal candidate is a skilled designer first but also highly organized, understanding the need to manage talent, timelines, and project flow efficiently. You’ll be responsible for producing high-quality assets—from landing pages and digital ads to white papers, event branding, and video content—while also overseeing the resourcing and delegation of projects to freelance creatives and copywriters.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Creative Design & Execution (Hands-On Work - 50%)

  • Design and execute creative assets for various B2B clients, including landing pages, digital & print ads, white papers, social media graphics, event branding, video assets, and more.
  • Develop creative concepts and designs that align with each client’s brand guidelines and marketing goals.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all deliverables, becoming an expert on each client's brand standards.
  • Work closely with copywriters, video editors, and other creatives to ensure cohesive visual and messaging execution.
  • Review and provide feedback on all creative assets to ensure quality control and strategic alignment.

Talent Resourcing & Project Oversight (50%)

  • Manage and assign creative projects to in-house designers, freelancers, and copywriters based on expertise and workload capacity.
  • Build and maintain a roster of vetted freelancers, ensuring a strong talent pool across design, motion graphics, UX, copywriting, and more.
  • Assess project scope, deadlines, and complexity, ensuring the right talent is assigned for execution.
  • Oversee deadlines and workflows, ensuring deliverables are produced on time and at the highest quality.
  • Develop processes for creative production and collaboration, optimizing workflow between designers, writers, and project managers.
  • Utilize project management tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Trello) to track projects and ensure smooth execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in graphic design, art direction, or creative leadership within an agency or in-house marketing team.
  • Strong hands-on design skills across digital and print, with expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and other design tools.
  • Experience managing freelancers, creative teams, and project workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of B2B marketing, with experience in landing pages, ad campaigns, content marketing, video, and event branding.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining creative excellence.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, able to provide clear feedback and direction to designers, writers, and developers.
  • Experience with resource planning, project tracking, and quality control processes.
  • Knowledge of marketing and advertising best practices for different digital and print platforms.
DETAILS:
  • Salary: up to $120k (based on relevant experience)
  • Start Date: April 2025 (ideal start date)
